The association was formally established in 1988. Big Wood Lake is located about six miles southeast of Grantsburg, Wisconsin. The lake covers approximately 525 acres with a very irregular shoreline of over eight miles.
The association is a leader in pursuing positive management practices designed to protect and preserve some of natures most spectacular habitat. There is a membership rate of over 70% which far exceeds the statewide average. A formal Aquatic Plant Management Plan is in place and the lake is physically monitored on a regular basis.
We invite property owners, recreational lake users and lake areas businesses to explore our membership benefits. Please consider becoming a member or “Friend of Big Wood Lake” and join us at an upcoming event.
